A New Way Forward
April 2025 will mark the 50th year anniversary of the end of the Wars in Southeast Asia. Looking back on these past 50 years, we celebrate our community’s resilience as refugees. Before, during, and after the Wars in Southeast Asia, our ancestral lineage of love and community care has continuously guided how we have always been our own refuge in the face of mass destruction and devastation. When the U.S. military fractured our communities during the Wars in Southeast Asia by polluting our lands with bombs and toxic chemicals, pitting neighbors against one another, and turning our families into refugees who were uprooted from our ancestral homelands, we survived by carrying secrets and seeds, adopting new family members as our own, and dreaming of a freer, safer future.
